Learn how to add content items such as Files, Images, Videos, Audio, Emojis, and more - directly into questions and answer choices!

Rich-Text Compatible Items

Teachers can enhance questions with additional content such as images, videos, audio files, and more.

Adding content items is available within any rich-text box:

  1. Within the instructions box of all question types

  2. Within the answer choice boxes of the following question types:

  • Categorize

  • Drag & Drop

  • Hot Spot

  • Match Table Grid

  • Matching

  • Multiple Choice

  • Multiple Selection

  • Resequence

Access the Rich-Text Menu

To add content items to your question's instructions box or answer choices, click the small + icon within the rich-text box to reveal the dropdown menu, then follow the directions below

Add an image

Select the "Image" option from the dropdown menu and then add an image by any of the following:

  • Search Google Images to find an image or add an Image URL

  • Select "Upload Picture" or "Upload Document" to upload images you saved from your computer, tablet or mobile device (Document files will be converted to image files when uploaded)

  • Select "Pick from Google Drive" to upload images from your Drive

  • Select "Take a Photo" to take a picture from your device's built-in camera

  • Select "Draw Image" to draw your image on a whiteboard

  • Drag and drop any file into the drop-zone

Add a video

Select the "video" option from the dropdown menu and then add a video by any of the following:

  • Search YouTube directly from within the search bar to find a video, or add a YouTube, Vimeo or Google Video share link

  • Select "Record Video" to record a video using your device's built-in camera

  • Select "Upload Video" to upload a video you saved from your computer, tablet or mobile device

  • Select "Record Screen" to to capture a screen recording (Note: screen recording is not available in Safari on Mac)

Add an audio recording

Select the "audio" option from the dropdown menu and then follow the instructions below:

  1. Click "Record Audio" to start recording

  2. Click the red "Recording" button to stop recording

  3. Wait until the recording is uploaded (this may take some time for long recordings)

  4. Once the recording has uploaded you can click the "play button" to hear it before posting

  5. If you're not satisfied with the recording, click "Replace Audio" to start a new one

  6. If you're satisfied with the recording, click "Add Audio" to post the recording to your question

  7. Once a recording has been posted, you can click the 3 dots to the far right of the recording to either download the audio file to your device, or to adjust playback speed

Note: Each recording has a 10 minute limit, so you should have plenty of time to read questions, instructions, and passages, but plan ahead to make multiple recordings if needed.

Attach a file

Select the "file" option from the dropdown menu and then add a file by any of the following:

  • Select "Upload File" to add a file you saved from your computer, tablet or mobile device

  • Select "Pick from Google Drive" to add a file saved to your drive

Add emojis

Select the "emoji" option from the dropdown menu and then click the emoji of your choice to add it to the rich-text box. You can choose as many emojis as you'd like!

Embed content from another website or from Google Drive

Select the "embed" option from the dropdown menu and embed content by either:

  • Pasting an embed link from another website into the rich-text box

  • Pasting the "share link" of a file from your Google Drive

Then click the "Add Embed" button to add the content to the rich-text box.

Add a math equation

Select the "math" option from the dropdown menu and add the equation using our built-in equation editor (math keyboard)

NOTE: If attempting to upload an unsafe file extension (ie .exe files) or other non-supported files, a "That file is not supported" notification will appear
